The Committee is responsible for arranging training venue and appropriately qualified coach’s, organising any required equipment, communication with the particpants, setting a budget, obtaining quotes for each cost component and preparing a grant application to any appropriate organisation.  The Committee also arranges trial matches against suitable opposition, completing entries for age group tournaments and overseeing selection of teams in conjunction with the Elite coach.

Each age group has approximately three coach’s responsible for running their training sessions.

Grants are applied for to cover some of the training costs, with players being asked to make up the final balance, along side any fundraising raised throughout the year.

At the end of the program, teams are selected to represent Western Districts at the age group tournaments. U16-U17 & 18  held prior to Christmas (14th of December – 22nd of December with U12 & 13 from the 27th of December – 31st of December, concluding with U14 & 15 in Janurary)

While Under 10/11 teams do not participate in a tournament, we endeavor to arrange matches along side  other age groups when playing other districts. e.g. Whangerei, Counties Manukau etc.
